Russell Bave – Songwriting Workshop @ St Mary’s Church Hall
Russell Bave is a popular local folk musician who plays frequently in and around Appledore, including running the weekly folk session at the Champ.
The songwriting workshop is an introduction to writing original songs. It will cover the structure and form of song verse and chorus. It will look at rhyming patterns and styles and is designed to ease you into writing original songs in an enjoyable and relaxed atmosphere.

Russell Bave – Drumming Workshop @ St Mary’s Church Hall
Russell Bave is a popular local folk musician who plays frequently in and around Appledore, including running the weekly folk session at the Champ.
The drumming workshop will explore standard drumming rhythms and teach techniques for getting the most out of percussion. Playing as a group, enjoy drumming with others as you learn from Russell’s easy-going and effective teachings.

Jim Crawford – Guitar Masterclass @ The Champ
Jim Crawford is a legendary blues and folk guitarist who has played and recorded extensively with world-famous musicians during his long career.
During the masterclass, Jim will be showcasing some of the techniques that have made him a world-class blues guitarist. These include open tuning, finger styles and slide.

Lara Conley – Singing Workshop @ St Mary’s Church Hall
Lara Conley is a well-known local singer songwriter and guitarist who has recorded and played extensively both solo and with fellow musicians.
During the singing workshop, Lara will teach how to explore your voice in a friendly and welcoming environment. Have fun with harmony, short songs, rounds and improvisation. Learn some valuable warm up techniques and enjoy singing with others. No experience necessary, no music reading skills required. Just come along with your voice.
